‘Game of Thrones’ Live Concert Tour Coming in 2017

game of thrones 2016 emmys nominations

Live Nation announced the 28-city “Game of Thrones” Live Concert Experience on Monday at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The show, based on music from the hit HBO show, is described as a “music and visual experience that will bring the Seven Kingdoms to life on a scale never seen before.”
The USC marching band kicked off the event, marching through the streets of Hollywood while playing the “GoT’ theme, to the delight of the hundreds of fans and to the chagrin of cars in traffic.
Inside the venue, Bran Stark himself, Isaac Hempstead Wright, introduced “Game of Thrones” composer and tour mastermind Ramin Djawadi.

Djawadi explained the idea for the tour came from the TV show’s creators. “We were in the studio together reviewing some music and one of them said, ‘I would love to see this live. I want to full orchestra. I want to see a choir.’ So we went from there.”
The experience will be a blend of LED screens and special stage designs. Concept art for the stage (see below) shows a giant screen flanked by flaming towers that house the choir and orchestra. But Djawadi promises it will be even more impressive in person. “We designed a stage that will be 360 degrees. There won’t be a bad seat in the house.”
As for the music itself, Djawadi said the playlist would include fan favorites including, “Mhysa,” “The Children,” and “Light of the Seven.”
The tour kicks off next February in Kansas City and will hit 28 cities, including Los Angeles, New York City and Las Vegas. Three shows in Canada are also planned. Tickets go on sale on Live Nation on August 13.
With the “Game of Thrones” Season 7 premiere a year away, the concert will be one way fans can get their “Game of Thrones” fix.

There’s a new heir to the Iron Throne, and nobody on ‘Game of Thrones’ noticed

Tommen has a new successor. Good luck getting anyone in King’s Landing to care, apparently. Caution! Spoilers immediately ahead for  Game of Thrones  Season 6, Episode 2, ‘Home.’ Go watch it, it’s a really good one.  The body count in Westeros is really starting to pile up — and the return of one resurrected Lord Commander  doesn’t begin to make a dent in the numbers. In Season 6’s first two episodes, three of the Seven Kingdoms’ most powerful leaders have been usurped and unceremoniously tossed on the scrap heap: Roose Bolton (along with his wife and hours-old heir), Balon Greyjoy (last of the participants in the War of the Five Kings and the last of the leeches burned in the fire by Melisandre) and Prince Doran Martell of Dorne (that guy in the bathrobe and wheelchair). But the most important death is the one that barely got any attention: the poisoning of Princess Myrcella Baratheon, sister to King Tommen and official heir to the Iron Throne. ...

Someone is leaking the plot of every new ‘Game of Thrones’ episode — and HBO is trying its best to stop it

Helen Sloan/HBO Warning: Spoilers ahead for “Game of Thrones” season six. The internet is darker and more full of spoilers than ever these days — and “Game of Thrones” is no exception. But the problem that has arisen in the last several weeks has nothing to do with spoiler-filled discussions of the episodes after they air. A man known as the “Spanish Spoiler” is uploading videos to YouTube in which he details the entire plot of the upcoming week’s episode. But he’s doing it two full days before HBO airs the show. In each video description, the mysterious YouTuber writes the following disclaimer (roughly translated using Google): I cannot put spoilers for the 3rd episode of the 6th season of Game of Thrones, because HBO forbids it. But we can always count predictions, theories, and make analysis of what will happen. And who knows, maybe guess everything. Nothing about the Spanish Spoiler’s descriptions is guesswork. Multiple plot details ...

Game of Thrones merchandise coming to India

Rejoice, India: soon your 1.2 billion citizens will be able to  buy locally licensed and developed  Game of Thrones  merchandise  through Mumbai-based firm Black White Orange Brands (no relation to the Assassin’s Guild hall). After working for over a year to close the deal with HBO, Black White Orange CEO Bhavik Vora is hoping that the merchandise will bring in between $35 and $40 million in sales during the first two years of the exclusive deal. And unlike other Game of Thrones- related distribution deals, this one will allow the company to develop its own set of products, as opposed to distributing previously existing merchandise sold in other countries. Vora appeared especially enthused when discussing the deal with  The Economic Times . This is a huge achievement for us.  Game of Thrones  fans get transported into the world of Westeros when watching the show and are eager to extend that experience into their everyday lives. ...
